How is the Volcano Classic Desktop Vaporizer different from the Volcano Hybrid?
The Volcano Classic by Storz & Bickel is the original Volcano and uses pure convection to heat materials unlike the Hybrid which uses both convection and conduction. The Volcano Classic is compatible with balloons but not a whip system and uses an analog dial for control rather than a digital display. The Volcano Classic is preferred by many for its simple design, wallet friendly price, and reliability.
How do I use the Volcano Classic Desktop Vaporizer?
The Volcano Classic is easy to use. Remove the orange filling chamber cap and pack the chamber loosely with ground herb. Turn the knob to your preferred temperature and press the red heat switch to begin heating. The orange light will indicate that it is heating and will turn of when the vaporizer has reached the correct temperature. Place the filled chamber onto the heating chamber and attach a balloon to the chamber. Press the air switch to start filling and allow the balloon to fill until it is full. Turn off the fan, remove the balloon and remove the filling chamber.
How do I clean the Volcano Classic Desktop Vaporizer?
Cleaning the Volcano Classic is easy. Brush out the filling chamber after every use to prevent build up. For a deeper cleaning disassemble the filling chamber, removing the cap ring, screens, and any o-rings. Soak metal parts such as the cylinder and screens in isopropyl alcohol. Do not expose the o-rings to alcohol as this will damage them. Soak plastic parts in warm soapy water and rinse all parts thoroughly with warm water. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling. The Easy Valve balloons are disposable and should be replaced every 2-4 weeks as needed, and the orange and black pieces can be cleaned with warm soapy water. Solid valves can be taken apart and metal pieces can be soaked in alcohol and the plastic pieces and be washed with soapy water. Never submerge the base in water or any other cleaners. Instead, wipe the base with a soft, dry cloth. Check the small grate on the bottom and if the air filter is dirty, replace it.
What is the difference between Easy Valve and Solid Valve?
The Easy Valve system is low maintenance, with balloons designed to be thrown out once they’ve worn out. This system is ideal for beginners. The Solid Valve system requires frequent cleaning of the valve and filling chamber and requires users to assemble bags themselves. This option is more cost effective over time.
How long can I keep vapor in a balloon?
After filling a balloon using the Volcano Classic, it’s ideal to use the vapor within 5-10 minutes while it’s fresh. Vapor begins to degrade and become stale around 10-15 minutes and compounds can condense inside of the balloon over time leading to a stale flavor and less potency.
