The most premium of scoops

So you may ask yourself, "do I really need to spend this much on an herb scoop?" And the answer is probably no, but I had some extra cash and wanted a scoop that would work to tamp the bowl of my Angus Enhanced, and I'm glad I bought this one. I had the more basic scoop that VGoodiEZ also sells, but the base was too wide to fit down the loading funnel of the Angus, and even too wide for the bowl itself. I'd been eyeing the Tinymigh.t_bowl scoop for a while, so I grabbed it when VGoodiEZ had it back in stock.

I actually find my bowl packing experience much easier, and dare I say "pleasant", with this scoop. It comes with a long and short handle, and I find the long handle to be perfect for me. It's a weird thing to say about a herb scoop, but the geometry of this thing is well thought out. The shape of the scoop head gets plenty of herb in it, and then when you go to dump it into the bowl the herb falls out without binding up like it did with my other scoop, so it doesn't clump up and leave air pockets in the bowl before packing. So I can actually tell the bowl is full and don't have to go back and add more and re-tamp. It's hard to describe, but it's really noticeable when you use it. The head also has a nice tapered grind at the bottom, so you can really easily scoop up even the last bit of herb from your grinder. And then of course having a smaller tamping surface on a longer handle makes it much easier to pack my Angus. And even though the handle does screw into the scoop head, if you tighten it down firmly it doesn't have any problems being loose.

So overall, yeah it's a premium product from a boutique craftsman in Thailand, and the cost reflects it. But I'm actually pretty happy with the purchase. It's a buy once, cry once situation where it'll serve you happily for the rest of your life if you don't lose it or somehow damage it (which would be hard to do considering it's a nice, thick stainless steel.) I'd recommend it if you're looking for something top of the line for your collection.
