The Marbling is inspired by SUMINAGASHI, a Japanese decorative art dating back to the 12th century.

The idea of marbling is to make colors float on the surface of water (thanks to additives), then transpose them onto leather by depositing it on the surface: the colored patterns created on the water will cling to the leather. 

The leather is then varnished to fix the colors and protect it.
