This is the dream vape I've been looking for. After giving up combustion completely 8/9 months ago, I've tried or gotten a wide variety of DHVs: Various Dynavap setups (including a Reload gen 2, which I love). Dani Fusion, Stunner, XMAX V3 Pro, TM2, Crafty+, and Lobo. The XMAX and TM2 probably see the most use -- they serve different purposes, but they both win for me on heat-up speed, ease of use, and flavor. What they fall short on is the ability to quickly send me and my 25+ year tolerance rocketing off to outer space. A ball vape is the obvious answer, but for a variety of reasons -- including home setup and my own dumbass brain -- there are safety concerns. I'd been eyeing the baller-enhanced DBV/SSV options for a while as a safer alternative, and I took the plunge with this year's 4/20 sale -- $250 after shipping with the most vanilla color options (I have other ways of seeing colors =)) and the baller upgrade.
I'm an astronaut now, baby. This thing rips. It's EXACTLY what I've been looking for: The enormous bowl and constant, even heating the baller cover allow for massive, billowing hits that smack me as hard as any dense combusted bong hit ever has. And while I haven't needed to yet, it seems like it'll be super simple to clean, since it's just the wand/whip. The learning curve is no worse than the TM2: you have to feel out the right temp setting, which has been between 12:00 and 1:00 for me with the flower I currently have, and treat it like the convection vape it is by regulating your hits. Proceed with caution if you're firing it up during the day or worried about your tolerance. But the big thing I've realized since I ditched combustion is each vape option can play the part of joint, blunt, bowl, bong, etc. (sometimes more than one). Before I got this SSV, only the Stunner could play the bong role. But the Stunner is very love/hate for me due to the butane-dependent heating time (IH is way too long), frequent need for cleaning, and questionable compatibility with my Ti Dani stem (it's way too loose). As someone who tends to vape while gaming socially on a PC, the SSV fits perfectly as an always-on THC faucet that lasts an entire evening on one or two fills + occasional stirring.
